Refunds
Refund Policy
Any paid item offered by this publisher may be refunded in full within 30 calendar days of purchase, with no reason required.
In force from 3 September 2026.
A. The window
Any paid item offered by the publisher of Pay Desk may be refunded in full within 30 calendar days of purchase, counted from the date the payment processor records for the transaction.
No reason is required. A request inside the window is honoured whether or not the item has been opened, downloaded or read.
B. Asking for one
Write to [email protected] with “Refund request” in the subject line and:
- the email address used at checkout;
- the date of purchase;
- the transaction or order reference, if it is to hand.
Requests are read Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 Brasília time. A written acknowledgement confirming that the request has been received goes out within two business days.
C. How long it takes
An approved refund is submitted to the payment processor within five business days of that acknowledgement. How long the money then takes to appear depends on the payment method and the issuing institution, and is outside the publisher's control:
- Credit card: commonly one to two billing cycles, depending on the issuer.
- Instant transfer methods: commonly up to ten business days.
- Bank slip and similar instruments: commonly up to twenty business days, and a bank account may be needed to receive the amount.
Refunds go back to the original payment method wherever the processor allows it. Where it does not, an alternative is agreed in writing with the purchaser.
D. How much comes back
The full amount paid, in the currency of the original transaction. No administrative fee is deducted. Where a bank or card issuer applies a currency conversion, the amount received may differ from the amount originally debited because the exchange rate moved; that difference is applied by the financial institution, not by the publisher.
E. What a refund does
Once a refund is issued, the licence granted under the Terms of Access ends and access to the paid item is withdrawn. Any copy already downloaded should be deleted.
F. Limits
- The window is 30 calendar days. Requests arriving after it fall outside this policy and are considered case by case at the publisher's discretion.
- Refunds are issued to the purchaser of record, not to a third party.
- Repeated purchase-and-refund cycles by the same purchaser may lead to future purchases being declined.
- Where a chargeback has already been opened with the card issuer, the matter is handled through that dispute rather than in parallel, to avoid a duplicate credit.
G. Statutory rights are untouched
This policy is offered in addition to, and does not restrict, consumer rights under Brazilian law. Article 49 of the Código de Defesa do Consumidor (Law No. 8.078/1990) grants a right of withdrawal within seven days of purchase or receipt for contracts concluded outside a commercial establishment, online purchases included. The 30-day window above is wider than that statutory minimum and does not replace it.
Consumers resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom keep the statutory rights available to them under applicable consumer law, including any right of withdrawal for distance contracts, subject to the exceptions that legislation makes for digital content supplied with the consumer's prior consent.
H. Before buying
Questions about what a paid item contains can be sent to [email protected] before purchase and are answered in writing. The desk published on this site is open and costs nothing; reading it is the most direct way to see what this publication produces.
